Our team is a group of dedicated, fun-loving people who enjoy helping others and have chosen dentistry and our practice as a way to do that. We hold each other accountable to the highest standards of knowledge and applied skills in dentistry. We combine a deep concern for each person with our expertise, caring, good humor and laughter.
Meet Our Dental Hygienists and Assistant
Our team is committed to providing the highest standard of dental hygiene care for you. Their care involves not only superb clinical skills, but also the behavioral and communication skills to assist you in attaining the highest level of dental health you choose. Ongoing continuing education in consumer dental products, nutrition, and total wellness prepares Sharon, Holly, and Hannah to be knowledgeable resources to help you with your oral health as it relates to your total health.
Sharon is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and brings over 40 years of experience in dentistry to our team. She has worked in a variety of practice settings that include serving as a consultant for Head Start and working in hospital dentistry.
As an active member of her professional association she has served at the local, state and district levels. Sharon was named Dental Hygienist of the Year by the Iowa Dental Hygienists Association in 1994, and more recently was given the prestigious Distinguished Service award by that same group.
Besides overseeing and working clinically in the dental hygiene portion of the Kuttler practice, Sharon also focuses her time and talent on providing information and programs that integrate wellness with oral health, and serves as a resource in facilitating dental health awareness for people of all ages. In 2015 Sharon was chosen to be a part of a pilot project for a consortium through the Iowa State Department of Health to teach direct care-givers how to provide oral care for those unable to do so for themselves.
Sharon has also collaborated in producing an audio CD, “Relieve Stress for Dental Health” for patient use. Besides volunteering for dental health endeavors, Sharon also enjoys reading, gardening, cooking and biking.
“I feel richly blessed to count many of the people who come to us as my dear friends. I am grateful to witness, and in some way facilitate, the changes people make in their journey toward health. I am delighted that I can play a part in that journey by providing my care, knowledge, experience, and clinical skills."
Holly is a Hawkeye Community College graduate from both the dental assisting program (2016) and dental hygiene program (2018). When Holly isn’t in the office, she is helping out on her family’s farm outside of Holy Cross, Iowa, where she lives. She also enjoys reading, watching a good Hallmark movie, and spending time with family and friends.
“I went into dentistry because as a kid I loved going to the dentist, especially to get my teeth cleaned. I also want to help people have an overall healthier life. With my career in dental hygiene I get the best of both worlds!”
Hannah is a 2017 graduate from the Dental Assisting Program at NICC in Peosta, Iowa. She has lived in Dubuque her entire life. Hannah enjoys sports - especially swimming, softball and football. She also loves painting and drawing.
“I went into dentistry because I care about helping people become knowledgeable about their oral health, and I love helping people get the smile they need, want, and love! I love meeting new people, building relationships, and making memories with them. I am so thankful to be a part of the Kuttler Dental Team – providing me a great place to be able to do all of this!”
